Measurement Guide — Complete MTM
To guarantee a precise, refined fit for your Borrigni Atelier garment, follow each step with a flexible tailor’s tape. Wear close‑fitting underwear (or the intended base layer). Stand naturally, breathe normally, and avoid pulling the tape too tight.
Reference: Each measurement below has a number. Please refer to the numbered illustration to locate each point on the body.
Note: This guide includes all essential measurements for a complete made‑to‑measure commission. No critical dimension is missing.

How to measure correctly — atelier standards
- Tool: Only a flexible, non‑stretch tape measure (sewing type). Paper or metal tape will cause errors.
- No tape? Use a piece of string, mark the points, then measure the string with a rigid ruler.
- Posture: Stand straight, weight equally distributed, arms relaxed. Do NOT puff chest or pull in stomach.
- Fit philosophy: The tape should lie flat against skin/light clothing — firm but not digging in. You should be able to slide one finger under the tape.
- Between sizes? Choose the larger size in our size chart. Our made‑to‑measure service will fine‑tune the rest during video consultation.
- Outseam vs Inseam: Outseam (total side length) is your “trouser length” reference in the size table. Inseam is the inner leg used for final hemming. Provide both for best results.
- Why we added #15 (armhole) and #16 (crotch length): These are the two silent killers of remote MTM fit. They ensure freedom of arm movement and proper crotch comfort without guesswork.
- Abdomen (#10) is kept and emphasized — it's essential for clients with a fuller midsection; skip only if you have a flat, athletic waist.
- After you submit your measurements, a personal sartorial advisor will schedule a 15‑min video session to verify critical points — complimentary with every commission.
